National Poetry Month

“We dance round in a ring and suppose,
the secret sits in the middle and knows.”
~Robert Frost

Celebrate National Poetry Month!

Let your inner poet shine by entering your original poems in the Milwaukee Public Library Poetry Contest.

Share your favorite poem with friends and family on April 14, National Poem in Your Pocket Day.  The library has loads of wonderful poetry books, including funny poems by Jack Prelutsky, mysterious poems by Edgar Allen Poe, love poems by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, sonnets by Shakespeare and so many more.

Like poems that tell a story?  Try a novel written in verse.  Check out this booklist to get some ideas.

Happy poetry reading, writing and sharing!
